Refund and Cancellation Policy
Draft for review. This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not legal advice.
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for GoSent, operated by [LLC NAME]. It is part of our Terms of Service. All payments are processed by Stripe.
1. Cancelling a monthly plan
You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time from the billing page of your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. We do not refund partial months, including for unused emails or verifications in the current period. After the period ends, your account moves to the Free plan.
2. Annual plans
Annual plans cost the same as ten months of the monthly price. If you cancel within the first 30 days of an annual term, we will refund the unused portion of the annual fee on a pro rata basis, calculated by the number of days remaining in the term. After the first 30 days, cancellation stops the plan from renewing, and the plan stays active until the end of the annual term with no refund.
3. Overage charges
Charges for emails sent above your plan's monthly allowance are billed at the end of each billing period. Because they pay for sending that has already happened, overage charges are non-refundable.
4. Verification packs
Verification packs never expire while your account is open, and checks that return an "unknown" result are not charged. You can request a full refund of a verification pack within 14 days of purchase if none of its checks have been used. Packs that have been partly used, or are more than 14 days old, are not refundable. Pay-as-you-go verification charges are non-refundable once the checks have run.
5. Dedicated IP add-on
The dedicated IP add-on is billed monthly with your plan and follows the same rules as a monthly subscription: you can cancel it at any time, it stays active to the end of the period, and partial months are not refunded.
6. Downgrades and upgrades
If you upgrade, the new plan starts right away and Stripe charges you the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period, and no refund is given for the current one.
7. Accounts terminated for abuse
If we suspend or terminate an account for breaking our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, no refund is given for any subscription, overage, add-on or verification pack, whether used or unused.
8. Billing errors
If you believe you were charged in error, for example a duplicate charge or a charge after you cancelled, contact us within 60 days of the charge and we will investigate and correct any mistake. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, since we can usually resolve problems faster that way.
9. How to request a refund
Email support@gosent.io from the address on your account with your account email, the invoice or charge in question, and the reason for the request. We aim to reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
10. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live that cannot be waived by contract.
